What is an end of contract notice?
The written confirmation fans must get when they end or cancel a subscription.

TL;DR
An end of contract notice is a written confirmation, on a durable medium, that the consumer has ended or cancelled their subscription, stating the date it ends. Online, it must be sent within 24 hours.
What does “End of contract notice” mean?
The notice must be sent after the consumer ends the contract, cancels during a cooling-off period, or cancels for the trader's breach. It must:
- be in writing on a durable medium (email, letter, SMS)
- make its purpose obvious, for example in the email subject line
- state the date the contract ended or will end, more prominently than anything else in the message
- arrive within 24 hours if the consumer ended the contract online, or within 3 working days otherwise.
How does it relate to football membership?
For clubs, this email is also the first step in winning back a lapsed member. It can include feedback requests or a rejoin offer, as long as the end date is the most prominent information.
How Limio helps
Limio triggers the end of contract notice from the cancellation event itself, so it goes out within the deadline with the correct end date, and passes the change to the CRM for win-back campaigns.
This is a plain-English summary of the subscription rules in Part 4, Chapter 2 of the DMCCA and the draft Consumer Subscription Contracts (Cancellation and Information) Regulations 2026, based on the draft government guidance published in October 2026. The regulations are still subject to parliamentary approval. It is not legal advice.
